Pediatrics

Growing up is hard enough without the added burden of physical challenges. Our youngest patients have distinct needs and require a special level of care and compassion. We also recognize that we are treating both pediatric patients and their parents/families, and that physical and emotional comfort is critical for a successful patient experience.

To help ease the adjustment to orthotics or prosthetics, we empower our pediatric patients with the opportunity to choose favorite colors, imagery or cartoon characters to permanently adorn their devices. This seemingly small step makes great strides in building the confidence and self-esteem of the children.

We’ve developed a peer-to-peer support system which enables young patients to speak with others undergoing similar treatment, and parents to connect with other parents for support. Our amputee staff members are also always available to provide emotional support and guidance for other patients and their families.
